 7 nights on Spirit of Freedom

exploratory diving in the Coral Sea

Join our small group of experienced divers venturing out into the Coral Sea for stunning sites with amazing diving!

​​Sleek and spacious, the ‘Spirit of Freedom’ offers the best in live-aboard dive cruising.

​

​This is a rare opportunity to explore the offshore Coral Sea Reefs of Flinders and Lihou Reefs. A first for Spirit of Freedom, we will travel 240km east of Cairns to explore the rarely visited Lihou Reefs, where you will find the sheer walls, gin clear water, and schools of pelagics typical of the Coral Sea reefs.

 

Depending on the weather we will spend a second day of diving at Flinders Reef or head north to Herald Cays, another Coral Sea Reef, known for its amazing corals and swim-throughs. The last day will be spent diving the Holmes Reef.

 

​This trip has our own Trip Leader on board the boat and in Cairns, taking care of all logistics of for you!

Itinerary

Mon 23rd:

  • Arrive into Cairns airport in morning

  • Transfer to city café meeting place

  • Last minute dive shopping?

  • 3pm pick up to board our luxury liveaboard dive boat

  • Briefings, dinner and overnight travel to Flinders Reef

Tue 24th:

  • Start our dive, eat, sleep, repeat routine!

  • Diving Flinders Reef in the Coral Sea

  • Opportunity to do up to 4 dives

  • Overnight travel to Magdelaine Cays

Wed 25th:

  • More of dive, eat, sleep, routine

  • Diving Magdelaine Cays

  • Opportunity to do 5 dives including 1 night dive

  • Overnight travel to Lihou Reef

Thu 26th:

  • Diving Lihou Reef

  • Opportunity to do 5 dives including 1 night dive

  • Remain anchored at Lihou reef overnight

Fri 27th:

  • Our routine keeps continuing

  • Diving Lihou Reef

  • Opportunity to do 4 dives

  • Overnight travel to Herald Cays

Sat 28th:

  • Diving Herald Cays

  • Opportunity to do 5 dives including 1 night dive

  • Overnight travel to Holmes Reef

Sun 29th:

  • Diving Holmes Reef

  • Opportunity to do 4 dives

  • Farewell dinner on board

  • Overnight travel to Cairns

Mon 30th:

  • Arrive Cairns early morning

  • Breakfast on board

  • Disembark 7.30-8.00am

  • Free day in Cairns before you fly out

  • Or, extend and do local tours
